From November 1, 2020, marking tires and tires with a unique DataMatrix code in Russia becomes mandatory.

It is expected that this will help buyers to purchase only high-quality goods and report illegal products to regulatory authorities through a special mobile application “Honest Sign”.

In the application, the information about the introduction of tires into circulation, turnover, and withdrawal from circulation can be found. From December 15, 2020, it will be illegal to sell unmarked tires.

They also announced the introduction of a mandatory 2D marking system for dairy products, which will be launched from January 20, 2021, in test mode, and a full-fledged mode from May 1.

Mandatory labeling requirements will be introduced in stages for different types of dairy products. From May 1, 2021, it is planned to make the labeling of ice cream, butter, and cheeses mandatory. From July 1, 2021 – milk and non-condensed cream with a shelf life of more than 28 days, buttermilk, curdled milk and cream, yogurt and kefir, milk whey, cottage cheese, sour cream. From October 1 – non-condensed milk and cream with a shelf life of 28 days or less, non-condensed milk and cream or with added sugar, soft drinks containing milk fat.

Previously, digital labeling became mandatory for medicines and tobacco products, footwear, perfumes.
