On August 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved 10 more technical regulations on ecodesign developed by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving.

The ecodesign system is being implemented to fulfill Ukraine’s obligations to implement Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council.

The technical regulation on the establishment of a system for determining the ecodesign requirements for energy-using products entered into force in Ukraine on April 6, 2019.

Ecodesign is the integration of environmental aspects into product design in order to improve the environmental performance of a product throughout its entire life cycle.

The technical regulation defines the requirements that energy-using products must meet for their introduction into circulation and/or operation, and also helps to increase energy efficiency and the level of environmental protection while increasing the security of energy supply.

Before the introduction of a product that is subject to technical regulations to establish requirements for ecodesign, the manufacturer or his authorized representative must affix the product with a mark of conformity with the technical regulations and draw up a declaration of conformity.

At the last meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted technical regulations on ecodesign:

– ovens, hobs and cooker hoods;

– lamps of non-directional radiation;

– dishwashers;

– water heaters and storage tanks;

– computers and computer servers;

– fluorescent and discharge lamps;

– air conditioners;

– TVs;

– office equipment;

– washing machines.

Earlier this year, the government approved the technical regulations for ecodesign:
