At a meeting on August 26, 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine authorized the application of an excise tax stamp on the packaging of liquids used in electronic cigarettes.
Also, the Cabinet of Ministers established that the period for receiving excise tax stamps by product manufacturers after submitting documents for receiving stamps should be up to three days, and the period for recycling damaged excise tax stamps returned to the seller will be no more than 120 calendar days from the moment they receive such stamps for their further disposal.
Earlier, the Ukrainian parliament adopted a bill on amendments to the Law “On Advertising” regarding advertising of electronic cigarettes and liquids used in electronic cigarettes, extending to them the same restrictions as for other tobacco products.
In addition, Ukraine plans to annually increase the excise tax rate for tobacco-containing products for electric heating by 20% until 2024.
