According to Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Turkey Minister of Foreign Affairs, negotiations on the creation of Free Trade Area between Ukraine and Turkey are at the final stage.

“In particular, negotiations with Ukraine are at the final stage. Free trade agreements with Ukraine may be signed in the near future”, Mr. Çavuşoğlu said.

Earlier this year, Volodymyr Groysman, Prime Minister of Ukraine, stated that there was a political agreement with Turkey to sign an agreement on an FTA, but the agreement should be technically finalized.

The trade between Ukraine and Turkey exceeded 4 billion USD in 2018. The parties expect that the conclusion of FTA will increase bilateral trade to 10 billion USD per year.

FTA signing between Ukraine and Turkey has been postponed since 2013.
