According to the results of 2022, the Intellectual Property Office of Ukraine received almost 29,000 applications for the registration of objects of intellectual property rights, which is 41% less than in 2021.
The biggest drop occurred in applications for industrial designs – by 55%.
The drop in applications for trademark registration was 42%.
At the same time, the drop in patent applications for inventions was only 19% and only 4% for applications filed under the international procedure under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
The deepest drop was observed in the spring of 2022, while already from the summer the indicators began to improve.
The number of objects for which registration was carried out in 2022 decreased by only 11%.
