According to the BrandMonitor report, from July 2019 to June 2020, sales of fake premium goods on social networks in Russia increased by 28% year-on-year and exceeded RUB 23 billion.
At the same time, when buying luxury brands through social networks, the probability of buying counterfeit goods reaches 70%.
The main channels for selling counterfeit products are Instagram, VKontakte (VK) and Telegram. In Russia, there are 192 thousand accounts selling fakes of well-known brands.
Moreover, every third online store has an offline point of sale in Moscow, and every tenth in St. Petersburg and Krasnodar.
