The Danish LEGO Group filed a lawsuit against the Ukrainian LLC “Company Genesis” regarding the attempt to import Chinese-made toys under the Alle Blox brand into Ukraine.

The Ukrainian company ordered 11,064 children’s constructors from a Chinese manufacturer that distributed them under the brand name Alle Blox in 2023.

In the course of the customs clearance procedure at the Ukrainian border, a LEGO representative became aware of the toy import into the country through a notification provided by the Lviv customs office.

The Danish company appealed to the Commercial Court of the Lviv region with a request to stop the customs clearance of Alle Blox constructors, because they infringe upon intellectual property rights, as per its assessment.

In a claim, a representative of LEGO said that the company conducted an expert study of the toys ordered by the Ukrainian company. Experts have determined that Alle Blox copied two figurines whose design rights belong to LEGO in its constructors. One of them is a figure named Stephanie, which was sold as part of the LEGO Friends set. This set became available in the United States in early 2012.

Regarding the infringement of intellectual property rights, the LEGO company requests that the goods be stopped from customs clearance, withdrawn from civil circulation, and destroyed.
