A pilot project on digital code marking cigarettes, alcohol, and shoes with digital identification codes in Kyrgyzstan will end on July 1, 2020.

After this date, digital identification codes of alcohol and tobacco products during their production or import into Kyrgyzstan will become mandatory. For shoes will remain voluntary.

By the end of 2020, the turnover of unmarked goods balances in the country will be allowed.

The agreement on the labeling of goods in the Eurasian Economic Union, of which Kyrgyzstan is a member (as well as Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia), entered into force in March 2019. The main objective of the agreement is to unify the processes of marking goods with machine-readable and unified marks throughout the Union.
