From January 1, 2024, the Eurasian Patent Organization will establish new amounts of certain fees for applications and Eurasian patents for inventions, as well as Eurasian patents for industrial designs.

Fees have been increased for all major actions with applications and patents.

In particular, the basic amount of the application fee is increased from 36,000 rubles (approximately $405) to 50,000 ($565). Also, the discounted application fee in the case of an international search report prepared is removed – from now on, the reduced fee will be applied only if the search is conducted by EAPO itself, and not by other international search authorities.

The cost of examination of applications for inventions is also increasing – from 40,000 ($450) to 50,000 ($565) for the first independent claim, from 25,000 to 30,000 for the second, and from 13,000 to 15,000 rubles for the third and each subsequent claim.

The fee for registration and issuance of a patent is increased from 25,000 to 30,000 rubles.

Most other fees are also increasing, such as for making changes to an application or a registered patent, registering the transfer of rights, etc.

Regarding Eurasian patents for industrial designs, the change in the size of fees occurred only in relation to the cost of filing an application and registering a patent.

Thus, the basic application fee is increased from 25,000 ($280) to 30,000 ($340) and from 20,000 to 30,000 rubles for registration and issuance of a patent for an industrial design.

The rest of the fees remain unchanged.
