The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia found the advertisement of the Supradin vitamin complex from Bayer violating the law on advertising.
In a commercial on a television channel dedicated to children and youth, it was said that the drug Supradin has the strongest formula, and the dosage in it is three times higher than that of others. According to the FAS, such statements were based on a comparison of the dosages of Supradin, Complivit, and Vitrum.
However, the results of the expertise of these vitamin complexes showed that in Supradin there is three times more only B1 and biotin, and not all vitamins in the composition.
From the point of view of advertising legislation, such a comparison is incorrect and unacceptable, since it makes consumers think that the comparison of medicines was carried out in terms of the dosages of all vitamins included in them.
FAS issued an order to Bayer JSC demanding to eliminate the violation. Also, the manufacturer faces a fine of 200 to 500 thousand rubles ($2.6-6.4 thousand).
