The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) fined LLC AKTIV (formerly SIBUR-AKTIV) for unfair competition.
The company unlawfully used the well-known name that belongs to the largest petrochemical company in Russia, SIBUR Holding.
SIBUR Holding itself complained about the company. It holds exclusive rights to the SIBUR and SIBUR commercial names and trademarks, as well as the well-known SIBUR trademark.
The SIBUR-AKTIV company was forced to change its name to AKTIV and was fined for violation of 300 thousand rubles ($4 thousand), and its director of 12 thousand rubles.
