The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine issued a warning to Ukrainian wine-producing companies that promote their products using associations with Georgia.

Georgian wines historically have a good reputation among consumers in Ukraine, as one of the best in quality and taste among imported alcoholic beverages.

Ukrainian manufacturers Koblevo (Mykolaiv), Aquavintex and Odesavinprom (Odesa region) used in the design of the bottle’s labels with elements of the Georgian flag, inscriptions in the letters of the Georgian alphabet, an image of a map of Georgia, men in Georgian national costumes. Moreover, these design elements are dominant, while information about the manufacturer is indicated in smaller letters.

The Antimonopoly Committee provided Ukrainian companies with 10 days to take measures to prevent using the information misleading consumers about the origin of the goods.
