From May 6, 2021, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has extended the possibility of the UDRP-based Domain Dispute Resolution Procedure at the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center to a number of third-level domains in the zone. UA.
The procedure becomes available for:
– .KYIV.UA,
– .KIEV.UA,
– .IVANO-FRANKIVSK.UA,
– .IF.UA,
– .POLTAVA.UA,
– .PL.UA,
– .UZHGOROD.UA,
– .UZ.UA.
In 2019, the out-of-court dispute settlement procedure became available for .UA and .COM.UA domains.
During this time, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center has considered 40 disputes regarding domain names in the .UA and .COM.UA zones. Only in respect of two complaints, it was decided to refuse to satisfy the requirements. In all other cases, either the transfer of rights or the cancellation of the unfair registration took place.
