The Ministry of Justice’s Intellectual Property Department has stopped the production of counterfeit dietary supplements in Uzbekistan.
Euro Lifecare, the British manufacturer of the dietary supplement “Polyfer,” contacted the department. The manufacturer complained about a local company producing products with a phonetically similar name, “Folifer,” without permission.
Department officials conducted an inspection on September 22, 2025, and confirmed the violation. The Ministry of Justice recognized the actions of the Folifer manufacturer as potentially misleading to consumers.
According to the Law “On Trademarks, Service Marks, and Appellations of Origin,” the company was fined 82.4 million soums (7 thousand USD) and products were seized from civil turnover.
