According to the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the European Union and Armenia, more than 3,000 geographical indications and geographical names of product origin have received legal protection in the territory of Armenia starting from November 15, 2024.
Any use by business entities of the geographical indications and product origin names included in the list for a product or service will be considered illegal and will result in legal consequences.
The Annex List to the CEPA contains list of agricultural products and foodstuffs other than wines, spirit drinks and aromatised wines obtained legal protection in the EU and the relevant protection in Armenia.
