On October 25, 2019, U.S. President Donald Trump, by his decree, resumed duty-free treatment, which applies to certain products from Ukraine under the program of the Generalized System of Preferences.

In December 2017, the trade preferences regime for a number of products from Ukraine was suspended due to insufficient, according to the United States, enforcement of intellectual property rights. Then the effect of trade preferences ceased for a third of the products from 3.5 thousand trade items.

Now, the United States noted that Ukraine “has made progress in providing adequate and effective protection of intellectual property rights”.
