Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a government decree approving the rules for the import and distribution of drugs that are not registered in Russia

It is expected that these drugs will be available in Russia since April 2020.

At the same time, the Prime Minister gave an order on the need to establish the production of such drugs in Russia.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health approved a list of drugs that contain narcotic and psychotropic substances, and received permission to import into Russia.

The list includes five drugs: Diazepam, Midazolam, Klobazam, Lorazepam, and Phenobarbital.

The relevant order is valid until January 1, 2024.

Amendments to the Law on the Circulation of Medicines, which allows the import into Russia of batches of unregistered drugs containing narcotic and psychotropic substances, were introduced in December 2019.

The need to change the rules for importing drugs arose after the cases of detention and criminal proceedings against parents who purchased abroad and tried to smuggle unregistered drugs in Russia for their sick children.
