The Russian government decided not to postpone the mandatory digital marking of goods other than dairy products.

The experiment on labeling dairy products was extended until December 31, 2020, instead of March 31 as it was before.

In 2019, 2D digital code marking became mandatory for part of tobacco products, perfumes, tires and pneumatic tires, cameras and flash lamps, as well as part of groups of light industry products – bedding and clothing, in particular work clothes made from genuine leather, coats, raincoats, jackets, and blouses.

Since the beginning of 2020, mandatory labeling of drugs has been introduced. In 2020, it will also be mandatory for shoes, bicycles, wheelchairs and all types of tobacco products, and from 2021 for all clothing.

It is planned that until 2024 all consumer products will be subject to mandatory DataMatrix digital code marking.
